All great collections revolve around a few core favourites. There are clothes you often reach for—outfits you keep returning to and comfortable pieces you’d never donate. Start by pulling these out and separating them from the entire process. Not only does this reduce the amount of work, but it will also help you decide which pieces to keep.
2: Form your piles
Label three bags or boxes: Keep, Donate, Unsure, and Toss. Now, go through each item one at a time and ask yourself these questions:
- Do I love this?
- Do I wear this often?
- Does it fit me well?
- Is it in good condition?
If you answered “yes” to all these questions, place the item in the Keep pile. If it’s in good shape but no longer your style or size, add it to the Donate pile.
